Define the quality expectation in a measurable way
The suitability of a clip doesn’t just depend on being the right color or size. Material and coating, shaping behavior, contact with the packaging and machine feed, if any, are evaluated together. Initially describe the application and the expected outcome. The existing sample, technical drawing and measured photograph support this definition. Once it is clear how a specification will be checked and under what conditions it will be accepted, a clearer comparison can be made between the sample and subsequent requests.

These headings do not mean that the same test will be applied for every product. Determine the control plan according to the need of your application. For example, folding and resealing are prominent in coffee packaging, while placement and final design specifications are decisive in medical wire.
Convert the control result to a record
Record the product sample used in the trial, packaging, machine/setting information, and observations. If different sizes or coatings are tried, changing one feature at a time and comparing them makes it easier to understand the result. The acceptance method and limits to be used should be defined by the technical conditions of your business.
When the sample is found suitable, prepare the order description with the same specifications. See if re-evaluation is required if size, material, color or packaging changes are required. Specify in advance the product code, revision or label information you need for traceability.
Request the technical document with its scope

Do not accept one document as valid for different products or models.
